Question 1

How do subscriptions work?

Accepted Answer

Basic ($3.99/mo) and Premium ($7.99/mo) are auto-renewing subscriptions billed through the App Store. New subscribers get a 3-day free trial; you are charged when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it does. You can cancel any time from iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Bite Built AI. Cancelling stops future renewals but keeps paid access until the end of your current billing period.

Question 2

Does Basic include AI photo scans?

Accepted Answer

Basic includes zero monthly AI scans on its own — it's the manual-tracker tier. If you want occasional scans without committing to Premium, buy a scan pack (from $2.99) and Basic will let you spend the credits.

Question 3

What happens when I run out of Premium's monthly scans?

Accepted Answer

Your diary, analytics, and manual logging keep working — you just can't run new AI scans until the next renewal cycle. You can buy a scan pack any time to top up; pack credits stack on top of next month's allowance.

Question 4

Can I switch between Free, Basic, and Premium?

Accepted Answer

Yes, any time. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period so you keep what you paid for.

Question 5

Do scan packs expire?

Accepted Answer

Scan-pack credits don't have a use-by date while your Basic or Premium subscription is active. If your subscription lapses or is refunded and you drop back to Free, unused credits are forfeited (Free has no AI scans at all). Re-subscribing doesn't restore them.

Question 6

Do you offer refunds?

Accepted Answer

Refunds for subscriptions and in-app purchases are handled by Apple per their policy. We can't process the refund directly, but email support@bitebuiltai.com and we'll help you request one.

Question 7

Is my data used to train AI models?

Accepted Answer

No. We send each meal photo to OpenAI's vision API for identification only — per OpenAI's API terms, your photos are not used to train their models. We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it to train any third-party model. Full details in our Privacy Policy.
